History
2005
Formal foundation of Maharashtra Mandal Jacksonville, FL. MMJAX was founded in Jan 2005 as a cultural, educational, non-profit organization. Foundation of MARATHI School which was run by volunteers. Several programs were organized from January to DIWALI. The year ended with a great DIWALI program.
2006
MMJAX and MARATHI School continued to grow. MMJAX won the First ever ‘First Prize in India Fest’. For the first time a great sports day was organized and was enjoyed by all. Organization as well as food was done through MMJAX with volunteering efforts of Members. The year ended with a great DIWALI program.
2007
MMJAX community collected the biggest amount for donation for Ganesh Mandap and became smallest group to make biggest collective contribution. A new concept of MARATHI MAIFIL was brought. The year ended with a record presence of MARATHI people for DIWALI program.
2008
Record membership. Mandal website created and converted to Marathi same year. Great programs year round and first ever professional show by Shirish Kanekar. Click Here for more details
